USB Connectivity Configuration

Use the following steps to configure the Verifone VX820 for USB connectivity. For more information, see FAQ.
  1. Connect the VX820 to a power source.
  2. Enter the "Engineering Menu" by pressing the
    [YELLOW]
     and
    [1]
    keys at the same time.
  3. Enter the default password: "12345678". See FAQ for instructions on changing your password.
  4. Scroll down and enter the “Comms Setup” menu.
  5. Select “Comm Type”.
  6. Select the “USB” option and confirm by pressing the
    [GREEN]
     key.
  7. Exit the “Engineering menu” by repeatedly pressing the
    [RED]
     key.

AFTER COMPLETING THE TASK

Verify that the VX820 now appears as a COM port named "Vx820 PIN Pad" in the Device Manager of your PC.
